Sarah Cronin

Insurance and Benefits Advisor and Managing Partner

Sarah got an early start in the financial services industry. While finishing her commerce degree she took a part time job with an insurance company and traveled around the province sitting at kitchen tables helping families protect what they loved most – their families.

She was recruited away from the industry and spent the next years of her career working as a Senior Executive with some of Canada’s largest corporations taking care of small business owners, but she always felt a calling to get back to the table – to be face to face with people helping them, to roll up her sleeves and make a real difference. Today she is proud to help hundreds of people a year protect their businesses and take care of their families.

She spends her time away from the office with her husband and three kids – most often found on a soccer field or baseball diamond around the lower mainland.

Joyce Oskoboiny

Insurance and Benefits Advisor, Partner

Joyce moved to Canada when she was a teenager and got her start working in, and eventually managing a family business. She understands the hard work and dedication that it takes to run one and it’s why she genuinely loves working with business owners and their families. After completing her degree at the University of Alberta she continued the path of supporting businesses, working with some of Canada’s largest brands in an Executive Management capacity.

The main reason she enjoys working in this industry so much is that it’s deeply personal for her clients. Helping people in making sure that their families, businesses, and employees are taken care of is important work.

Away from the office Joyce loves hiking and spending time outdoors with her husband exploring the beauty of Canada. She enjoys strong coffee, is a yoga and fitness enthusiast and always has a book or two on the go.

Sharon Bakshi

Operations Coordinator

Sharon’s entrepreneurial spirit, diverse professional background, educational achievements, positive attitude, and personal values make her a valuable asset to OBEO Planning Group and a reliable resource for its clients.

Having completed a Degree in Business Administration, Sharon is well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for her role as Operations Coordinator.

Sharon’s fun sense of humor adds a positive and enjoyable dynamic to the work environment, fostering a collaborative and engaging atmosphere. Her love for learning indicates a proactive approach to staying updated and adapting to the dynamic business landscape.

As a devoted mom, Sharon values the flexibility that her role at OBEO Planning Group offers, allowing her to spend quality time with her family. This personal connection to flexibility not only enhances her work-life balance but also contributes to her overall job satisfaction and commitment to the team.

Chris Geldert


Chris is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP), and the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU). In addition to achieving his designation as a Chartered Accountant, he also achieved the Chartered Life Underwriter and Certified Executor Advisor designations.

He was a tax manager with a major accounting firm, specializing in tax planning for high-net worth individuals. Chris’ tax planning background provides an invaluable perspective when building recommendations for complex corporate cases. Chris brings expertise in insurance related strategies for business owners and high net worth individuals building strategies to create, protect and transfer wealth for these individuals.

With over 20 years of service in the financial industry, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table for OBEO clients.

Jackie Jordan

Manager, Group Benefits

Jackie comes to us with many years of experience in the Group Benefit Industry. After working for Manulife Financial for a number of years Jackie moved abroad to Hong Kong with her husband where they traveled and started a family over the course of 8 years. Since returning to Canada she has been drawn back into the Group Benefit business where she worked for an MGA firm and ultimately landed with the OBEO team.

Jackie received her Bachelor of Arts degree and has since completed her GBA certificate, which has contributed to a well-versed knowledge of Group Insurance. As our Manager of Group Benefits, you can rest assured Jackie will go above and beyond in helping our clients provide valuable solutions to their employees. 

Jackie now resides in beautiful Kelowna and while not at work you can find her spending time with her family, visiting vineyards, or hitting the local mountain for a day of skiing.

Account Manager, Group Benefits

With 28 years of experience in the Group Benefit industry, Kristy brings an extensive knowledge base to our dynamic team. Throughout her career, she has honed her skills by progressing from administration to leadership roles at Manulife Financial, where she dedicated 25 years of service. Subsequently, Kristy joined an MGA firm for three years, supporting advisor business and further enriching her expertise.

Kristy excels in providing best-in-class service and finds immense joy in contributing to team success and project accomplishments. Her professional journey has equipped her with a deep understanding of the intricacies of the Group Benefit industry, making her a valuable asset to our collaborative environment.

Outside of the professional realm, Kristy resides in sunny Tsawwassen, where she cherishes moments spent cooking, enjoying quality time with her family and pets. As a proud parent of twin girls, family is at the core of her values. Recently, Kristy has re-ignited her passion for reading, adding a delightful dimension to her life beyond the workplace.

Carley is our Administrative Assistant at OBEO Planning. With 15 years plus Customer Service experience, you can rest assured that her attention to detail and multitasking will be an added asset to our dynamic team.

Carley started her journey in the Insurance Industry, where she found her love for helping families and individuals prepare for the good, the bad and the unexpected. Her Banking background and money management have helped clients from all walks of life and her dedication for providing solutions for every event of life. 

Carley lives in Kelowna with her husband and three kids enjoying the outdoors and visiting vineyards. When she is not in the office you can find her in the hockey rink cheering on her kids.
